iXiGO has introduced a hotel search engine that will allow users to search & book hotel rooms directly in 4500 hotels across major Indian cities. This search encompasses accommodation across the whole spectrum – top to budget hotels, hostels, guest-houses, serviced apartments etc. The search results are aggregated from 30 national & international hotel booking websites and allows users to compare room tariffs and filter results using hotel ratings & facilities like internet, gym, parking etc. The search results are displayed in a efficiently Ajaxified, no frills interface (screenshot below).

A quick search for a hotel room in Delhi for a two day stay, ten days hence shows up 168 results ranging from Rs 16000/- to Rs 500/-. Selecting one of the options channels you to the affiliate website where the booking is being offered. You can also look up the hotel’s location on a Google map that comes up in an Ajaxian pop-up.

While there is no dearth of Indian travel websites offering travels & hotel bookings, a search engine that allows people to do a COMPREHENSIVE, FAST & EFFICIENT search is invaluable. iXiGO’s web interface scores high on usability… if the search quality is good, they may have a very compelling offering with this new launch.
