Chances are you previously have seen this video on the web; for this is the most popular Indian video on YouTube. Go to the site, type ‘India‘ in the search box and this is the top result you get (by relevance). I bumped into this video for the umpteenth time today and decided to share it here for the benefit of those who haven’t.
The video is a live depiction of a very familiar Indian urban scene- how traffic on the road moves on without the need for any traffic signals, traffic policemen etc. Its almost like a philosophical commentary on Indian society- people are so used to dysfunctional systems, that they often discount the need for procedures, managing things on their own, in a choreographed self-managed chaos. And as the video shows, often that works fine. I think every Indian should watch this video; for its sheer entertainment value, if not for anything else.
Just out of curiosity- any guesses which Indian city this is???….don’t know why but my guess is hyderabad
It seems like Kolkata!!!
ahh….watching this i think its similar to seeing ‘ants’ running around food….(though they r much more organized 😉 )…
btw….i think its Hyderabad too….guessing so noticing the Color theme of Auto-Rickshaws there. !!
Someone send me this vdo sometime back saying it was Bangalore
Moksh, that is not kolkata for sure…the busese there look different
This is hyderabad for sure, its the road leading from secunderabad to the Tank bund (Necklace Road).
The right side which is not visible is rail over bridge and the other side is a beautiful lake (Hussain Sagar Lake) besides which we have a necklace shaped road called Necklace road.
its seems like antcity.
Ants moves without needs of any traffice signal self directed 😉
It is Hyderabad. The colour of the bus is proof enough – white and orange 😉 – and the autos are yellow too.
Its in Hyderabad….its the road from Greenpark hotel leading to ameerpet and dharam karam road T junction..:-)
I use to the road every day…hence so much sure of it!
Whether it is Kolkata or Hyderabad, it is real India. We have our own culture. I have a site on Indian Video. You can also see the videos representing the pride of our country.
